GeoIcons is free under the GPLv3 license for any project whose own source is released under a GPL-compatible license. No key and no payment are required. The entire, identical icon set is available to open-source and commercial users alike. The only difference between free and paid is the license you operate under, not the icons you receive. You need a commercial license whenever you ship GeoIcons in a closed-source, proprietary, or otherwise non-GPL product. The commercial license waives GPLv3 copyleft so you do not have to open-source your application. Pick the tier that matches how you ship: Hobby for a single product, Business for unlimited products, Extended for redistribution.
The complete, growing catalog; tree-shakeable icon components, the raw SVGs, and the Figma source file; the copyleft waiver; and a clean compliance state with no console notice. Your key is delivered by email and verified fully offline by the license provider for your framework — the IconProvider component in React, the GeoiconsLicense plugin in Vue, provideGeoiconsLicense() in Angular, and initGeoiconsLicense() in vanilla JS.
Yes. Your key is permanent and covers all current and future versions of GeoIcons for your tier. There is no version gate and no upgrade fee. A one-time purchase is valid forever; the annual option is simply a lower-cost way to pay that keeps your updates current.
A product is one application, website, or distributable that ships GeoIcons. Developers are the people who build with it. Each license is a single key: Hobby covers one product built by one developer; Business covers unlimited products and unlimited developers within your organization; Extended covers unlimited developers building one redistributable product. These limits are per license and are enforced by the license terms, not by the runtime.
One application, website, or distributable that ships GeoIcons to end users. Multiple deployments or environments of the same application count as one product. Separate apps (for example a marketing site and a separate SaaS dashboard) are separate products, so a multi-product company should choose Business.
Extended is required when GeoIcons is redistributed as part of a product that produces copies which each use the icons: SDKs, web, app, or website builders, and downloadable or installable products such as themes or templates. You do not need Extended to use the icons in your own app or site. Hobby and Business already cover that. Shipping the icons inside a builder, template, or SDK without an Extended license is prohibited.
Extended grants the broadest right: every downstream copy your product generates carries the icons, so exposure scales with each redistributable product line. It is therefore scoped and priced per product, covering a single redistributable product. Need to cover several products? Contact us and we will sort out the right arrangement.
No. Redistributing GeoIcons as a standalone icon library, icon set, component library or in any form, whether paid or free, is prohibited under every commercial tier, and you may not sublicense or resell the license or the icons. Even the Extended license only permits shipping the icons inside a larger product; it never permits offering the icon set by itself.
No. Your key is permanent. Paste it once and it never expires. One-time purchases are valid forever; the annual option is a lower-cost way to pay that keeps your updates current.
